The 2021 Illinois Main Street Conference

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2021 Illinois Main Street Conference. Hosted in Jacksonville, Illinois, the conference was a great opportunity for all those involved in Illinois commercial districts to learn from experts in the field and each other through best practices and engaged conversation. Participants explored in-depth topics ranging from supporting entrepreneurs in your district, structuring and funding your revitalization program, creating impact with downtown promotions, and much more.

The Illinois Main Street Conference was hosted in partnership with Chicago UrbanMain, the Office of Lt. Governor Juliana Stratton, and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

About our 2021 Conference Host Community: Jacksonville Main Street

Officially started in 1999, Jacksonville Main Street is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to preserving and enhancing downtown Jacksonville. Virtually everyone in the area is a stake-holder in the success of downtown, therefore, understanding that the vitality of downtown Jacksonville is a direct benefit to all citizens and businesses of Jacksonville and the surrounding region, we are the only charitable organization that reinvests all of its profits back into the downtown.

Now seen as a vital part of our community, downtown Jacksonville has begun to flourish, with several rehabilitation projects, more public and private partnerships, many new businesses and expansions, and enhanced promotional events that contribute to its continued growth and development.
